This is our custom built arcade system. We built everything from the ground up... yes including the cabinet. We were able to do it all for around $700 in part because of the deals on Craigslist.org
It plays the following systems all in one machine: -Arcade Games (MAME) -Super Nintendo (ZSNES) -Nintendo (FCEUltra) -Sega Genesis (Gens) -Sega 32x (Gens)
MAME Changes (v0.78): I removed ALL nag screens. No more typing "OK" for games with problems, disclaimers, or other game info. Normally you can pass it the command line options of "-skip_disclaimer" & "-skip_gameinfo" to get rid of a few nags but there is no option to get rid of the nags about games with problems. The mame.exe included here solves that problem. The mame.exe is currently 17.8MB because I haven't UPX'd it yet. Thanks to the people who let me know about that. I'll update the zip file with the smaller exe a little later.
Gens Changes: I fixed a bug where games would not load from the command line. Changed the default keys. Working on making it automatically take screenshots like mame. Here are my notes: GensChanges.txt
Instructions:
Unzip these folders into your C: drive. So the paths should read c:\glaunch & c:\Emulation
Place your ROMs in the "Roms" directory for each system (c:\Emulation\(system)\Roms)
Run mamescan.exe (c:\glaunch\mamescan.exe) if you have any mame games.
Run glaunch.exe (c:\glaunch\glaunch.exe)
Button/Key Layout:
This layout is the most compatible and easiest to remember. It works with all emulators and if you need to use the keyboard, it still makes sense.
Game Launcher Keys: Up = Up Arrow Down = Down Arrow Page Up = Left Arrow Page Down = Right Arrow Play Game = N Next Emulator = F5 Previous Emulator = F7 Quit = ESC
